One Day Project

Yesterday, we were set a one day project to be completed by 3:30pm this afternoon. It was a photoshop image based on nature and technology focusing on 1 of 5 given words, those words being depth, revolution, encounter, journey and element.

I used three images, an eagle, a plane and the sky background. I wanted the effect of technology taking inspiration from nature to come across within my final image. I edited the lighting on the eagle, and then made several copies of the eagle, distorting them, blurring them and changing the opacity. Hopefully giving the effect of the bird flying and then morphing into the plane. I used the same tools to get the same effect with the plane as i did with the eagle. I slightly played around with the background sky, making the sunlight as bright as possible. Adding the text 'Journey' just completes the image, and i used a slight reflection of the text to add an air of quality. 

I went for a simple image to portray my final desired effect, which i'm very happy with.

First Week at Uni...

So, the first proper week at university is over... and it was a pretty good week! So thought id reflect on the week I've just had...

Monday, was where it all began, the lectures, the seminars and workshops. A 2 hour lecture kicked it all off, and was an interesting start to education at uni'. After a quiet start, with the odd hand being raised and several points being put across, the views and ideas of the new media school students came thick and fast. Later, we were set our first brief for our 'Images Project' - to create 5 photoshop images discussing nature and technology, uploading them to a simple website and then writing a 1500 essay, so looks like ive got a bit to be cracking on with!

Tuesday came the day of the first photoshop workshop, getting my first taster of the production side of the corse, which i loved! Bring on more workshops! Also met my seminar group, group C, everyone seems pretty cool! Finally had my first day of work, missed the last bus home, no money for a taxi meaning i had a lovely 2 hour walk home, grrreat! Although i did hit bliss with the flat-mates, legs hurt too much, and just sat down the whole night.

Wednesday - first day off, started thinking of some ideas for my project, taking notes of what nature and technology mean to me, and how they are in some ways similar but also potentially similar? 

Thursday was another photoshop workshop and again, loved it. cant wait till tuesday to get another one under my belt, and went out with a few of the IMP's, hitting BarMe and Toko. Was a good night!

And today... ive almost finished my first image, and will upload that, along with my others , once they are completed.
